Changing Focus

Hey all,
As you can see, things have slowed down with regards to my regularity of postings on this blog.  I'm having difficulties keeping on top of all of the various social media outlets, and as such, have made the decision to put on hold any further blog postings in order to focus on Facebook and other social media.  So, until further notice, please like my Facebook page to the right so that you can keep posted any wedding photography, engagement photography, or family portraits I may be doing.  Also, I'll be posting images of any event photography I do, and also of course, throwing a couple images of action sports photography once in a while.

I am in the process of creating a new "division" within the Kyle Hamilton Photography umbrella, and that is custom framing.  I will be posting news and specials for the custom framing on the Kyle Hamilton Photography facebook page as well, so be sure to follow along for any awesome deals!

Sincerely,
Kyle

Carley and Vanito- Calgary Wedding Photography

Saturday of the long weekend I was up in Calgary shooting a wedding for Carley and Vanito.  The weather was absolutely gorgeous and I had a great time getting to know Carley and Vanito.  The ceremony was held at the Southwood United Church, and the reception at the Scandinavian Centre.

Keith & L'Wren- Fernie Engagement Photography

Keith and L'Wren are super troopers.  We had a bit of deadline to get these images done; they both needed to get to work, and they needed the photos done so that they could send out their invitations.  There was not going to be any chance for rescheduling.  We were shooting these images, rain or shine.  Or snow.  Yes, its the end of April, but that didn't stop Mother Nature from deciding it was a great day for a blizzard to blow through Fernie!  With towels and tissues to keep make-up, camera's, lenses, and flashes dry, we plowed through this session.  At times, the snow was coming down so hard, I could barely see them through my camera lens.

Dyck Family- Family Portraits in Fernie

This winter has been a blur...  I can't even believe that the start of May is coming around this weekend!  Here's some photos I took of my niece and nephew this winter while my sister's family was out visiting.  They've been sitting on my "to do" list since early March, and I've only now gotten the chance to start editing the shoot.  Here are a sampling of the images from our shoot.  Not that I'm bragging, but I'm pretty sure that my nephew is going to be the Male Model of the Year in 2028.

Kate and Dai- Saskatoon Wedding

I've known Kate her entire life.  I should, since she's my little cousin.  She isn't really so little anymore, but she's still my cousin.  I was extremely honoured when she asked me to shoot her wedding, but wasn't sure if my "other job" would get in the way of me making the 9hr drive back to Saskatoon for a wedding New Years Eve, as I'd need to be back in Fernie by the next day.  When I explained my predicament, she offered to buy me a plane ticket.  Sold.

Unfortunately, as is wont to happen in the Prairies, it was frigid cold outside!  If I remember correctly, something like -35C.  Because of the seriously cold temps, we weren't able to spend much time outside getting "the shot".  But they were good sports about it, and didn't want to freeze, so we got what we could indoors, and everyone enjoyed the day immensely.

Here are a couple from Kate getting ready, and the ceremony.

Enjoy.

Fernie Wedding- Robin & Brett

Robin and Brett were such a fun couple.  We all used up our "good Karma" that we may have had stored up in wishing for a sunny day (it had been grey and rainy for the previous 2 weeks).  When I woke up on Saturday morning, there wasn't a single cloud in the sky... Which was really good, because the ceremony was planned for outdoors!  It turned out to be possibly one of the nicest days of the whole entire summer.
